An Accra High Court has granted bail to Oliver Barker-Vormawor, a prominent leader in recent anti-galamsey protests.
The bail was set at GHC20,000 with two sureties.
Barker-Vormawor, who is a lawyer and Convenor of the Democracy Hub pressure group, faces multiple charges, including stealing, causing unlawful damage, offensive conduct, assaulting a public officer, and defacing public property.
As part of the bail conditions, the court ordered him to report to the Police twice a week.
His legal team had previously made three unsuccessful applications for bail in the Circuit Court.
Barker-Vormawor, along with 52 other protesters, was arrested by police for alleged lawlessness during the demonstrations, and they have since been granted bail by two different circuit courts in Accra.
