Choose Wisely: The Impact of Associations on Christian Lives

Must read

Accra, Aug. 01 – In a thought-provoking sermon titled “God’s provision is always sustained,” Bishop Dr Yaw Owusu Ansah of the Resurrection Power and Living Bread Ministries International urged Christians to exercise caution in their choice of associations, as they can profoundly influence their lives. Drawing from the biblical story of King Ahab’s marriage to Jezebel, the Bishop emphasized how one wrong relationship can lead to disastrous consequences, diverting hearts away from God and inviting demonic contaminations into one’s life.

The Bishop’s sermon highlighted the ripple effect of associations, citing how King Ahab’s marriage to Jezebel resulted in the importation of 450 fetish priests to Israel, leading to the destruction of sacred altars established by revered figures like Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He warned that some individuals may enter one’s life as destroyers of holy altars, impacting one’s spirituality and moral values by introducing them to carnality.

Quoting from Galatians 3:1-3, the Bishop reinforced the message, cautioning against forsaking the Spirit for the flesh and stressing the importance of staying grounded in faith. He encouraged believers to disassociate themselves from negative influences and embrace sacrifice in service to God, reassuring them that divine provisions are sustained for those who dedicate themselves to the righteous path. The Bishop’s exhortation inspired the congregation to challenge the status quo and become agents of positive change in their communities, emphasizing that no matter their backgrounds, God can raise them to achieve greatness, just as He did with the prophet Elijah.
