Nkawie (Ash), Aug. 1 – Ahead of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) set to begin on August 7, 2023, candidates in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency of the Ashanti Region have received valuable support. Mr. John Kwame Duodu, the First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Constituency, donated mathematical sets and pens to all 4,200 candidates from basic schools in the area.
The gesture aims to motivate the candidates and ease the burden on parents, particularly those facing financial constraints. Mr. Duodu has been an advocate for improving educational infrastructure in the Municipality to enhance teaching and learning over the years.
Ms. Juliana Ursula Cudjoe, the Municipal Director of Education, expressed gratitude for Mr. Duodu’s continuous support, recognizing the significance of the materials in aiding the candidates during the examination. She emphasized the importance of focusing on their studies, avoiding examination malpractices, and relying on what they have been taught in the classroom.
Additionally, Ms. Cudjoe urged parents to provide the necessary support to encourage their children to excel in the exams, allowing them to benefit from the Government’s Free Senior High School Policy.
The donation of essential items by the NPP Vice Chairman serves as a meaningful boost to the confidence and readiness of BECE candidates in Atwima Nwabiagya South as they prepare for their crucial exams.
